George Schwatz T'76 Mr. George Schwartz, based in San Diego, is actively involved at the formation stage of any number of early stage companies. He has served and continue as to serve as chairman of such companies. He has been a partner in a $600 million private equity fund controlled by Bass Brothers Enterprises, led the acquisition of and served as chairman of Aircraft Services International Group, a $100 million company with 4,000 employees, was a senior investment banker at Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc., was a CEO of a biotech company, and was an investor in many large and small companies, many of which had very successful exits. Mr. Schwartz is industry agnostic, though he seeks associations with rapidly scalable businesses and ones with energized and coachable management teams. Mr. Schwartz works with founder-entrepreneurs to help develop a business model which investors will find appealing. Mr. Schwartz acts as a partner in these businesses, not as a service provider. Deb Kemper T'95Deb Kemper is Managing Director of the Boston Forum of Golden Seeds, a national angel investor group. She is also a member of Clean Energy Venture Group. Her investment focus is high growth companies in the clean tech, health care, and technology sectors.
Deb was a consultant with McKinsey & Company where she served clients in the energy, electronics, and healthcare sectors. Her functional experience spans manufacturing, product development, operations, strategy, and leadership development. She has provided leadership support to organizations in China, Peru and the United States. Deb earned her MBA from Tuck where she was named an Edward Tuck Scholar. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Cornell University where she graduated With Distinction and was a member of the Varsity Women’s Crew. She recently lived in Peru and China for 8 years and now resides in Boston. |
Amanda Reed D'86After 15 years of successful investing as a General Partner at Palomar Ventures, Ms. Reed is currently co-founding Authentic Partners, a new seed and early stage venture capital firm in San Francisco. Ms. Reed is a third-generation entrepreneur.
She joined the venture capital community in 2001 after a 15-year career in four start-up companies, including two IPOs, an acquisition and a shut-down. Ms. Reed is a Senior Advisor to Astia Ventures, and was recently honored as an inspirational speaker to Microsoft’s Women in Technology. Ms. Reed graduated from Dartmouth College in 1986. While at Dartmouth, Ms. Reed studied Economics and English, was a Social Chair of Kappa Alpha Theta, President of the Women’s Rugby Club, and Publicity Chair of the Winter Carnival Council. |
Jeremiah Daly D'04Jeremiah is a General Partner at Elephant, a leading venture capital firm he co-founded in 2015 with Andy Hunt. He is the lead investor and board member at KnowBe4, the leading security behavior software company. Jeremiah has been a venture capitalist since 2006, with a primary focus on the software, internet and mobile sectors. Jeremiah was previously a Partner at Highland Capital Partners, a Principal at Accel Partners and an Associate at Summit Partners. Jeremiah has made 15 investments around the world, including into leading companies Atlassian, AvePoint, Handy, Homepolish, HourlyNerd, KnowBe4, Malwarebytes, Showroomprive, SimpliVity, Supercell, Telerik and WeTransfer. Earlier in his career, Jeremiah worked at Gold Hill Capital and Silicon Valley Bank. Jeremiah graduated from Dartmouth College with an AB in Government. While at Dartmouth he captained the golf team and was a two-time Academic All-Ivy performer.

Moderator: Tom Naughton D'89, T'96Tom Naughton is the Adjunct Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship at the Tuck School of Business. He was previously Managing Director and founder of NeoCarta Ventures. Before forming NeoCarta, Naughton was vice president for GE Equity, the private equity arm of General Electric and GE Capital. Naughton obtained his AB in mathematics from Dartmouth and received his MBA from Tuck, where he graduated as an Edward Tuck Scholar with High Distinction.
