Prior to founding CarGurus (www.cargurus.com), Steinert was Chairman/co-founder of TripAdvisor, Inc., the world's largest online travel site with over 350 Million unique monthly visitors and operating in 47 countries worldwide (NASDAQ TRIP). Prior to TripAdvisor, Steinert was Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at Viaweb Inc,, an award-winning, internet commerce tools company that was sold to Yahoo! Inc. (now Yahoo Store). He has also held management roles at Papyrus, Lotus Development Corp. and JetForm Corp. Steinert possesses an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BA from Georgetown University.

Jeremy Katz D'95Jeremy Katz has founded, funded and advised in excess of 120 companies since 1994 with a primary concentration in the telecommunications, media and technology sectors. He was Chief Executive Officer of segTEL, Inc. a provider of fiber-optic service to the wireless and wholesale community, where he presided over a network buildout exceeding 100,000 fiber miles and supported the roll out of next-generation LTE technology in the northeast USA. segTEL was acquired in 2011 by Riverside Partners, a Boston based private equity firm. Additionally, he was founder and President of Research Dataware, LLC, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider specializing in research management and regulatory compliance. RDW was acquired in 2012 by Arsenal Capital Partners, a New York based private equity firm. Jeremy has served as a director, member or advisor for a diverse array of entities including the Union Leader Corporation, Firstlight Fiber, WCG Clinical, Inc, and Hackers and Founders. He has a bachelors degree from Dartmouth College.

Deb Kemper T'95Deb Kemper is Managing Director of the Boston Forum of Golden Seeds, a national angel investor group. She is also a member of Clean Energy Venture Group. Her investment focus is high growth companies in the clean tech, health care, and technology sectors.
Deb was a consultant with McKinsey & Company where she served clients in the energy, electronics, and healthcare sectors. Her functional experience spans manufacturing, product development, operations, strategy, and leadership development. She has provided leadership support to organizations in China, Peru and the United States. Deb earned her MBA from Tuck where she was named an Edward Tuck Scholar. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Cornell University where she graduated With Distinction and was a member of the Varsity Women’s Crew. She recently lived in Peru and China for 8 years and now resides in Boston. |
Phil Ferneau D'84, T'96Phil has devoted twenty years to advancing Dartmouth College’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and applies that experience to identifying and supporting the most promising entrepreneurs and innovations in the broader Dartmouth community. He currently leads Borealis’ investments in Adimab, Avedro, Avitide, Compass Therapeutics, Genextropy and Vets First Choice. Phil also led the firm’s prior investments in GlycoFi (acquired by Merck & Co.) and M2S (acquired by AIG Altaris Health Partners).
Phil joined Borealis from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business, where he was the founding Executive Director of the Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship. Phil remains an adjunct member of Tuck’s faculty teaching venture capital and entrepreneurship topics. Phil also serves as an appointee by New Hampshire’s Governor on the state’s Economic Development Advisory Council and was previously a trustee of the Dartmouth Regional Technology Center. Prior to joining the Tuck faculty, Phil held senior strategy and business development roles at a privately-held application software company in New Hampshire. Earlier in private legal practice, he counseled technology startups, Fortune 500 companies and foreign governments on sensitive trade, tax, and investment matters. Phil received an A.B. degree from Dartmouth College, a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a M.B.A. (with High Distinction) from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. |
